DESIGN | R17 | READY TO WEAR

As head designer at Paper London for R17 my role was to build the collection and included concept and colour direction, design development, fabric & print development, working the collection into stories, sampling, sample fittings and finally art direction for the lookbook.

R17’s fresh blue hues and rippling silk stripes took their lead from French waterside photography of the 1930’s. Lee Miller, Many Ray, Jacques Henri Lartigue and Renée Perle inpsired the dreamline tranquil and insouciant mood of this resort collection. Fresh white cottons, deck chair stripes, hot magenta pleats, sun bleached denim and picnic gingham, come together in a breezy blend of pattern and texture. Trend analysis of the season informed the use of balloon sleeves, bandeau-necklines and feminine frills in the clean and modern silhouettes.
